CREAM is a balloon-borne experiment aimed at the
study of the primary cosmic rays with Z=1-28 in the energy range
1012-1015 eV.
It is an effort to extend the direct
measurements performed in the past by experiments like JACEE or RUNJOB,
in order to study the problem of the origin and acceleration mechanisms
of cosmic rays.
CREAM will exploit the ULDB technique - Ultra Long
Duration Balloons - being developped by NASA to flight for 60-100 days and
perform the measurements with unprecedented statistical precision.
